Indie Extreme® has been developing this network of resources under the leadership of CEO, Kathy Douglas, whose 25 years of experience in direct sales as a Sr. Executive Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics triggered the concept of providing the same sort of umbrella for independent labels as Mary Kay Cosmetics provides for their independent consultants. Her relationships as an artist manager in Texas over the past 10 years have opened doors to the industry veterans who have shaped the development of resources at the highest levels for our member labels. The executive team reads like a who’s who of the music industry with Eddie Lambert (EMI Special Markets, 20th Century Fox Music, Interworld Music Group (BMG), and ABC-Dunhill Music, Director of A&R at Motown Records), Wayne Halper (Capitol Records and DreamWorks Records.), as well as experts in vital fields such as financial expert, Rob Walker ( MBA, Harvard). Indie Extreme® has forged an impeccable reputation for integrity and character as we have focused on creating successes for each of our labels. I believe in the power of music—the power that music has to reach the heart and speak to the depths of the soul in ways that cleverly crafted speeches and well-written books never can. I believe in the power of songwriters, the power that they have to craft their art in such a way as to share their deepest pain and greatest joys in a medium that recreates the experience with every live performance.
This website is filled with words, ideas and numbers. They are the culmination of the 4 years of pondering, thinking, figuring out, trying, doing, and experiencing the concept of a cooperative administrative company that provides “back office” support to independent record labels. Along the way we have found that others were seeing the same things we are and are doing their part to help. We are creating a team of just such people, bringing together a powerful set of tools and talents to serve these labels.
