It seems that the most profound thing that keeps coming in front of me on a weekly and daily basis is the reality that everything costs something. Usually it comes down to either time or money. Both of these commodities are valuable and yet the older I get, the clearer I become as to which has the greater value. It seems that when I was younger, I had all the time in the world and so time seemed to me to simply be something to use in whatever way pleased me! What REALLY seemed of greater value was money,I had none, and it seemed that the only way I could use my time in a way that truly pleased me cost me a LOT of money!

The years have changed my perspective and I have learned that money is relatively easy to get and all that I need seems to be available when I really need it. I simply have to work for it and then invest what I earn to make it grow. I love the commercial that Citicards has on TV. In this commercial a little boy is dressed up like a "superhero" and while he is flexing his muscles the caption says "nobody dreams of growing up to be MoneyMan"....it is so true.

TIME ....now that is a commodity that is flying by faster every day, the older we get, the faster it flys!!!!!! It has value that is beyond comprehension. It can't be manufactured, bought, sold or saved. It is here only NOW and then it is gone. I have learned that using my time created less of it, so I began to invest it and the lessons I learned about money applied to the most valuble of the two, when I invest my time, my time also multiplies and grows!!!

Through the years I have noticed that some of the "busiest" people I know are always available to talk and share and give to others. They are not in a hurry, they are accessible and open. They have deep relationships that they invest in and those relationships grow and mutiply into life long friendships. They have plenty of time for their families, they spend time with their children, their spouse, their parents and siblings. They have time for activities that matter to their community....church, charities and volunteering. Some of these people have a lot of money and some of them don't, it clearly is not the issue. What they all have in common is they are aware of the value of TIME and they invest their time in the things that will last and they invest their money in giving them more time to invest in the things that last. I once heard a pastor say,"There are only two things that will last for eternity...People and the Word of God." From that day forward, I knew I wanted to invest my time and my money in those two things.....the things that last.
