McKnight & Bogdal make the Roots Top 100 charts with new album Zombie Nation

NASHVILLE, TN (JANUARY 2012) – Breaking their way into the Roots Music Top 100 Blues Albums of 2011, Elam McKnight and Bob Bogdal have set the scene ablaze with their new album Zombie Nation. Joining names on the chart such as Gregg Allman, Joe Bonamassa, Buddy Guy, and Eric Clapton himself; McKnight & Bogdal are receiving international recognition and high marks across the board for their vision of the genre. The veteran blues musicians are sparking new life in the genre, leaving fans and newcomers alike with a deep feeling of musical satisfaction. From a kitchen table record distribution to national tours in 18-wheelers, every artist has different needs and different dreams. Where does a manager enter the picture? Panelists include three managers who work with several of the hottest acts in the Texas music industry today:

George Couri, Triple 8 Management, Austin, who represents Kevin Fowler, Jack Ingram, the Eli Young Band and Joe Nichols;

“You are the brand,” says Bob Cohen, who has worked and consulted in the media, sports, and entertainment fields for over 30 years. Cohen is the latest addition to the annual music industry career seminar, “I’ve Made a Record…Now What?” February 1 in Houston.

Cohen will advise about how to use sponsorship effectively to give a return on investment in a session called, “Sell the Sizzle without Selling Out.” The session is based on Cohen’s expertise in sports marketing and media advertising. He advises San Antonio Missions baseball, Utah Grizzlies hockey, and Yahoo! Sports Radio among other brands, including Best In Texas magazine.

He’ll discuss how to make your product – you – attractive to sponsors. He’ll share tips on what to offer potential sponsors and what they might expect from a relationship with you.

The Yeshiva Boys Choir “Chanukah” CD Set For Release on November 15, 2011

Eli Gerstner, the Producer of The Yeshiva’s Boys Choir today announced the release of The Yeshiva Boys Choir Chanukah CD, set for a November 15, 2011 release on indieExtreme/Gerstner Music through Fontana Distribution (the independent music division of Universal Music Group Distribution.) The eleven song holiday CD was composed, arranged and directed by Eli Gerstner, with the rhythm recorded in Israel, vocals recorded in New York and strings and brass recorded in New Jersey. The choir was conducted by Yossi Newman with music by The Yosis Orchestra and the CD was mixed by Gerstner and mastered by Larry Gates.

Eli Gerstner, the producer of The Yeshiva Boys Choir, is without a doubt one of Jewish music’s most prolific stars. A household name on account of his stellar solo albums and hand-crafted male vocal groups, “The Chevra”, “Menucha” & “Tek-noy”, Eli was not content to rest from exploring new innovative sounds and venues to advance the prestige of Jewish music. In 2003, together with his close friend Yossi Newman, Eli charted new territory with the formation of a boys’ choir that would quickly become one of the most sought after acts in the nation.

CD Release Concerts Scheduled for November 2011 in Kingwood

HOUSTON, TX (OCTOBER 2011) – Deborah Pyle Wedekind (pronounced: wee-dee-kind), brings an uplifting pop approach to timeless standards we all know and love. Often referred to as a “jazzy Michael Buble”, she adds a fresh, exciting, vibrant, and yet beautifully different pop approach to her arrangements. She certainly has developed a sound all her own. In her new CD, Clear Skies Ahead, these lush arrangements are only outshone by her vocal clarity and range, reminiscent of “a young Barbara Streisand” or a “female Josh Groban”.

Though a recent entrant into the full-time music scene, Deborah comes from a highly talented and musical family, with six brothers and sisters all involved, professionally or otherwise, in music and acting. Now living in Kingwood, Texas, part of the Houston area where she was raised, she has recently completed her music degree. Now she’s not only arranging and performing music, but has composed her original and highly acclaimed: “Psalm on Danny Boy”, with more original songs in the pipeline.

Deborah has starred in several local productions including “Cabaret”, and “Magic Flute”, and has been a guest soloist with the Kingwood Pops Orchestra, Houston Chamber Choir, Houston Symphony Chorus, Cantare, and the Kingwood Chorale. She often “hears the music” in her head, and feels that writing songs and arranging them, along with performing, are gifts from God. She wrote or arranged all the songs for Clear Skies Ahead, along with her Producer, Troy Warren, of Absolute Sound, in Houston. Troy has stated that he ranks Clear Skies Ahead at “the very top of his long list of CD’s” he’s produced in his over 30 years of work.

Her husband, Larry, is also a professional singer in addition to his busy life as a CEO, and lends his resonant vocals to the duet, The Prayer, on Clear Skies Ahead. Deborah has been inspired by Larry and her family to: “get out there, and make my dreams of performing and writing music a reality”. And so she has. The Observer in Houston has said, “her vocal style is so unique and smooth, that it’s almost unparalleled”.

About Laura Kaczor
At 8-years-old, Kaczor sang her first song at a neighbor’s tap recital, then at 10 she wrote her first song, and soon became active in theater and music programs at church and school. After attending her first Creation Festival at 17, worship became her heart and passion and it was at that moment she knew she wanted to pursue a music ministry. Kaczor remained active with music and Campus Crusade during her college years at the University of Pennsylvania and seriously started writing songs while serving as worship leader for 7 years at Jesus Fest. It was during this time Kaczor recorded her first CD Wake Me Up , and in 2006 after graduating from college, Kaczor moved to Nashville and recorded an EP Wildflowers in 2007. Three years later, Kaczor began work on her current CD, Love Enough that was released in Fall 2010 and distributed through LifeThirst/indieExtreme/Universal Music Christian Group (UMCG). The last single, “Alive In You” peaked at #17 on the Billboard chart, and Kaczor has just released “Yours Forever” as her current song going for adds at radio.
