Indie Extreme Placed Three Items In 1st Round Voting For GMA Dove Awards

IE artist Matt Brouwer receives positive feedback from radio and fans on his album
produced by Michael Omartian.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 2010) – Indie Extreme was thrilled to discover that two of the company’s artist’s, Richie Fike and Matt Brouwer, were included in the 1st round of voting for the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards. Indie Extreme combined its efforts to provide label services to the independent music market with distribution giant, Universal Music Christian Group, in April of 2009.  The partnership has yielded opportunities such as this for Indie Extreme artists and labels to be included in major music awards such as this for the first time.

The song “Ascend to Heaven” written by Integrity Publishing/Indie Extreme songwriter Richie Fike, is the title song of the choral collection produced by Lillenas Music, which was selected for 1st round voting in the Choral Collection of the Year category. The collection also includes Fike’s song Not Just A Story. Both songs are on the studio CD “Make a Sound” by Fike & Dana, which was named one of the best worship albums of 2009 by Worship Leader Magazine.

Black Shoe Records/Indie Extreme recording artist Matt Brouwer received 1st round voting candidacy for two of his latest singles, Sometimes and Come Back Around, in the Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year category. Brouwer’s singles, from his album “Where’s Our Revolution,” have received radio play across the USA and Canada. Sometimes has also been steadily climbing the Billboard’s Christian AC Chart into the top 20 since its release this past fall. “Where’s Our Revolution” was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Michael Omartian. Omartian, who is up for Producer of the Year, also has two other projects that are hoping for a Dove Award.
