Eddie Lambert - President
Lambert heads this fast-growing international firm from our Los Angeles office. His executive role will include developing the company’s policies and goals, directing the promotion of products and services, overseeing the operating budget, and opening and managing offices in other cities such as New York, Nashville, Tenn., and Austin, Texas.
A music industry veteran, Mr Lambert founded the independent consulting firm, Rilex Entertainment, in 2001. As president of this Los Angeles-based company, he handled music placement and licensing for film, television and commercials for publishers and songwriters. His clients included Deston Songs (Desmond Child), Turn Up The Music, Riptide Music, and hit songwriter Carole Bayer Sager.
Prior to that, he served as chief music officer for Smashcast Inc., a San Francisco-based provider of Internet streaming products and services. His role included opening a Los Angeles office and handling all music-related issues for the company.
In 1989, Lambert founded the film and television licensing division for EMI-Capitol Special Markets. For almost 12 years, he oversaw the licensing and marketing of all recordings to film, television, commercials, soundtrack albums and new technology. During his tenure as vice president, the division’s annual revenue increased from $1.5 million to $15 million.
“Eddie offers a wealth of experience and a heartfelt commitment to provide much-needed support to independent artists and record label owners,” said Kathy Douglas, CEO of Indie Extreme. “Under his leadership, we are working to build a 3,000-member network around the globe.”
Lambert also has extensive experience in music publishing and A&R. He has held high-level executive positions at 20th Century Fox Music, Interworld Music Group (BMG), and ABC-Dunhill Music. He was also director of A&R at Motown Records where he worked closely with Lionel Richie, DeBarge, Stacy Lattisaw, and the Temptations. During the latter part of the ‘80s, Lambert served as a talent consultant for the original nationally syndicated television show Star Search, a precursor to the current hit TV show American Idol.
The music industry professional also has played significant volunteer roles with the Recording Academy (NARAS). He has co-chaired the Academy’s Awards and Nominations Committee and the National Screening Committee for many years. Lambert also has served two terms as vice chair of the Board of Trustees and twice as president of the organization’s Los Angeles chapter.
“I’m thrilled to join Indie Extreme as president. Today, it’s harder than ever for artists to land major record deals or for smaller labels to receive substantial radio airplay and record sales. Indie Extreme levels the playing field by providing all of the administrative and managerial resources they need.”
